i brought a big red bird-haped kite and my two mall couin, aged four and tow, to national taiwan univerity campu. we found an open pace away from telephone pole and line and tree. it wa 8 o’ clock in the morning and not very unny; the wind wa moderate. after the firt few attempt to get the kite to fly i dicovered how amateur i really wa. i wa at the to realize thi wa going to be a long trial-and- error proce. by ten-thirty, at lat i wa at the height of my glory: the kite wa ailing upward and away a far a my tring could go. and both children were dancing, yelling, and clapping around me. i had gotten the kite up, but i did not teer it well and the wind blew it down toward the roof of a chool building. finally my tring broke, and we all went home.
